“Everyone High Fiving Everyone” is how Fang Island are often described. That could be one of the greatest description a band could receive. Its close to attaining one of the loftiest medals a patriot could receive. I am never averse to a high five. As a matter of fact, I am of the strong belief that every good high five actually kills a terrorist. Fang Island are the type of band that could be doing some wailing guitars at an All-American High Fiving Ceremony.

There were honestly a few moments when I thought that they were going to break out into the craziest version of the national anthem. But no, they stuck to the majority of the songs off of their self titled release. I was pleased to recognize them, and to notice that my foot was tipping in rhythm, and that my head was swaying with the rest of the crowd, and I even nerdily did the chorus filled OOOOOOHHHHs and AAAAAAHHHHHs with the band. The amount of guitar shredding that took place in the little space of the Casbah made me feel as though I had finally found a faux Dragonforce/Jay Reatard that didn’t require a guilty pleasure grin.
