This winter Matt Pond is taking a swing at lowering the volume by playing a series of intimate, solo shows bringing stripped down versions of his own heartfelt songs to venues across the country. Accompanied by Chris Hansen [engineer, co-producer], and cellist Shawn Alpay, Matt Pond’s upcoming tour has all the honest-to-goodness makings of a quiet kick-flip in a beautifully burned out basement. On this very special tour, Matt Pond will be playing old favorites along with selections from his most recent, critically acclaimed album The Dark Leaves [Altitude Records], a record about surrendering and not, about being done with darkness and having something to sing about it. Matt Pond has a well-established formula for making accessible, emotionally driven indie pop songs with catchy choruses.
