I was hoping, but not expecting, to see Beady Eye somewhere on the list. For those unaware, Beady Eye is the new band formed by Liam Gallagher, once the frontman for the “Britpop” band Oasis. From what I understand, Beady Eye is just Oasis without Noel Gallagher. Anyway, I am 30 years old, and I only recognize about three or four of the bands you have listed here. I kind of lost touch with the current music scene for the last six years while I went underground and listened to primarily 60′s and 70′s stuff. Upon my musical return into 2011, I was disheartened to see the hatred and contempt most people seem to have for Oasis, whom I love. I don’t understand it. I even tried searching for them on this site and I got zero results. Note to IRR: update your database please. Look, for everyone who does not like Oasis, I would only ask that you open your mind and give them half a chance. Try listening to “The Masterplan”, a collection of their B-sides. Or, listen to a few songs like “Bag it Up”, “Stop the Clocks”, and “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down”. If you like classic rock, I think you will like them…at least I hope you will.
And to those of you who already like Oasis…keep the dream alive. I’m out.
