Without an album to their name, and already making waves around the music industry prior to their debut EP release, New Orleans quintet Empress Hotel dole out songs like rays of sunshine kissing a new baby faun in the early morning dew of springtime. About the video:
Blowing up balloons all morning, director, Andrew Stubbs admits, “It was a long and painful setup, but once everything was in place and the camera started rolling it was one of the most fun shoots I’ve had.” The playful piece includes close-up shots of glitter balloons exploding directly onto the band members’ faces. Frontman Micah Mckee explains, “The video was always intended to contain childlike imagery. The song itself is about boundless potential…” Reminiscent of the song’s tender sentiment, the video conveys its tale of youth and carefree adolescence.
