Lizzy Lehman, the braintrust and vocalist behind Austin alt-pop outfit Carry Illinois, recently released the bands debut album, Alabaster this past April 2015. We are more than honoured to be premiering the video for “Alabaster” Live at The Ball Farm. It’s a haunting number, captured brilliantly by the aural-inspired lighting affects and trippy camera edits, if one were witchy enough one could almost feel the power of a seance about to take place. This feeling of otherworldly comes on strongest when Lizzy’s voice takes on new power as the chorus erupts with “Alabaster”.
Lehman’s thoughts on the video, “It was really special to have the chance to film and record a live version of “Alabaster” in such a unique setting. Since we filmed over a whole weekend and stayed out at the ranch, we were able to dig deep into the emotions and each band members connection to the song. We captured the power of the group playing together in a classic ranch house setting with a psychedelic light show.
